The increase in credit losses was driven by several factors relating to the current macroeconomic environment and the related customer and industry dynamics. In addition, the retail allowance for credit losses for the first quarter remained flat at 5.4% from Q4 of 2023. Total retail loan originations in Q1 were up 2%, while commercial financing activities were up 22% to $1.5 billion.
